Campus Emergency Response Team at UCLA
The Office of Emergency Management offers free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes throughout the year to all UCLA students, staff & faculty. This 24-hour class will educate you about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact your area and trains you in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Once graduated, CERT members have the option to volunteer and respond to a disaster or emergency affecting the UCLA community.
Classes are taught every quarter over a span of three days and are limited to 25 seats. You must attend all three days of class in order to graduate.
Please reach out to our CERT Program Manager, Lorianne Bundick directly if:
- You would like to set up a class for an individual department or building.
- You have completed CERT training on campus or elsewhere in the past and are interested in joining UCLA’s CERT team.
- You cannot make any of the classes this year but would like to take part in CERT at a later date.
